Lisa Davis
Director of Health Services

Lisa Davis serves as director of Health Services for the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control. In this position, Davis is responsible for the Bureaus of Maternal and Child Health, Community Health and Chronic Disease Prevention, Disease Control, and Client Services. She also serves as DHEC's senior deputy to the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials.

Prior to joining DHEC in 2014, Davis served as deputy commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH), overseeing the agency's state laboratory, administrative services and Office of Health Care Access. Davis began her career working on the frontlines of health care as a nurse before being progressively promoted to senior leadership roles at DPH.

She is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellows Alumna and was awarded a Nightingale Award for Nursing Excellence in 2013. Davis earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Connecticut and her master's degree in business administration from the Hartford Graduate Center.
