Allen Amsler, of Lexington, is president and CEO of Columbia-based McCrory Construction Company. Founded in 1918, McCrory is one of the southeast's leading commercial construction management and services firms. It plans and builds factories, banks, healthcare facilities, stores, churches, apartments, assisted living facilities and other large-scale projects.
A 1987 graduate of the University of Florida, Amsler joined McCrory Construction as an assistant project manager. He has since held several other positions in the company, including project manager, group manager, vice president of Construction, and executive vice president.
Amsler serves on the board of the Associated General Contractors of America, Carolinas Chapter. He serves as board chairman of the National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina. Amsler is also a member of the boards of Special Olympics South Carolina, Hootie and the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am golf tournament, and The Humane Society. He also serves on the Lexington board of the National Bank of South Carolina.
As the DHEC board's only member-at-large, Amsler also serves as chairman. He was appointed by S.C. Governor Nikki R. Haley.
