DHEC Recognizes Facilities of Excellence

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control has presented 32 wastewater treatment facilities across the state the 2013 Facility Award of Excellence, the agency announced today.

"The Facility Award of Excellence recognizes those facilities that are striving to meet or exceed customers' expectations in environmental protection," said David Wilson, bureau chief in DHEC'S Bureau of Water. "All facilities that have aNational Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)or a No Discharge (ND) permit were eligible to submit an application for this award."

The 2013 winners are:

The awards were presented on Tuesday, March 12, at the 2014 S.C. Environmental Conference.
