COLUMBIA - Test results indicate that bacteria levels have returned to below the acceptable limit at Half Mile Lake
in Greenville County, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control announced today.
DHEC staff collected a second round of samples from the waters in and around Half Mile Lake on July 1, 2014, in response to a sanitary sewer overflow which was originally reported on June 27, 2014. The samples underwent bacteriological testing at the Greenville DHEC regional laboratory on July 2, 2014.
Advisory signs have been removed as test results show that bacteria levels no longer pose a public health threat.
