As of Thursday afternoon, all forecast regions are trending towards a code green finish with the exception of the Catawba, CSRA and Upstate regions, which are trending towards a code yellow finish. For Friday, high pressure both at the surface and aloft will begin to take told. Patchy cloud cover though the day is expected for the majority of the state, with clearer skies at the coast and partly sunny in the Northern regions of the state. An Easterly gentle breeze will bring an influx of surface moisture into the state raising dew points. Very clean air from over the Atlantic will be advected into South Carolina. These environmental conditions are expected to impede surface ozone production. Overall, all forecast regions are forecast to finish in code GREEN on Friday.
