HIDA Public Reports

The Hospital Infections Disclosure Act (HIDA), passed by the South Carolina General Assembly in May 2006, requires hospitals to report specific types of infections to the Department of Health and Environmental Control.  DHEC must then compile and analyze the data in order to produce a final, validated report to the General Assembly by April 15 of each year.  DHEC then publishes that report to its website.

Due to unforeseen technical issues with the Centers for Disease Control’s database (where the HIDA data is housed), the report has been delayed. It will be posted as soon as it is completed. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Due to an issue with the extraction of the data from the National Healthcare Safety Network there were some errors in the number of surgical site infections in the report posted on April 15, 2015 - August 20, 2015. The errors are corrected in this updated report.
