Why focus on businesses?

Businesses, government entities and non-profits can be strong partners in reducing vehicle emissions and changing the culture of idling for several reasons:

  1. High volume of daily visitors
  2. High visibility parking areas
  3. Frequent deliveries by truck

Thank you for considering this opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to South Carolina's air quality!

It's easy to be a B2 Business!

business_request.PNGTo become a B2 Business, please fill out the Enrollment and Sign Request Form . If your request is approved you will receive up to three "Turn Off Your Engine" signs to post around your business.

When your signs have been installed, please take photos and email them to breathebetter@dhec.sc.gov.

Another way to participate as a B2 Business is by signing up for the Air Quality Flag Program. Each day, your organization raises a flag that corresponds to how clean or polluted the air is. The color of the flag matches the EPA's Air Quality Index (AQI). Learn more about the program here and sign up for the program using our enrollment and sign request form.

Please use the installation of the sign(s) and/or flags as an opportunity to inform your staff, customers and delivery drivers why it is beneficial not to idle.
