Board Member - John Oxford Hutto, Sr, MD, FACP, FACC
Dr. John Hutto, of Orangeburg, is a board-certified cardiologist with Cardiovascular Associates, a private medical practice. He also serves in several capacities at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties – chief medical information officer, chairman of the Physician Information Technology Advisory Committee and medical director of the Cardiology Rehab program.
A magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina and the USC School of Medicine, Hutto completed his residency in internal medicine, as well as his cardiology fellowship, at USC-associated hospitals.
At RMC, he has served on the Medical Executive Committee as member-at-large, secretary, chief of staff, and chairman, and he is currently a member of the emeritus staff. He also served as chairman of the Quality Committee for four years and has served multiple terms as chairman of the Cardiology Department. Hutto has also served on the Board of Trustees for RMC. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Hutto represents Congressional District 6 on the DHEC board. He was appointed by S.C. Governor Nikki R. Haley.
