Swimming advisory issued for Hunting Island
COLUMBIA – A swimming advisory has been issued for Hunting Island State Park, from 44 Cabin Road south to Fripp Inlet, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control announced today.
Higher than acceptable bacteria levels have been detected in this section of beach and swimming is not advised until bacteria levels return to normal.
DHEC is investigating potential sources of bacteria and will continue to monitor the beach.
Water quality at all other areas of Hunting Island State Park is acceptable for swimming.
