Swimming advisory issued for Harbor Island
COLUMBIA – A swimming advisory has been issued for the area 200 feet north and south of Harbor Island’s monitoring station at South Harbor Drive and Pelican Point, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control reported today.
Higher than acceptable bacteria levels have been detected in this section of beach and swimming is not advised until bacteria levels return to normal.
DHEC is investigating potential sources of bacteria and will continue to monitor the beach.
