Federal, state and local responders set for training exercise in Georgetown County

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control, the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Georgetown County Emergency Management officials will participate in a training exercise in Georgetown County May 26-27.

The training exercise will include the Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response Teams (CASPER). The teams, who will readily identify themselves and provide additional information, will conduct surveys related to emergency and disaster preparedness throughout Georgetown County. The assessment will help responders know where resources would be needed after a disaster.
