Coastal photography contest announced

CHARLESTON -- Photographers of all ages and expertise are invited to get out their cameras and tripods to enter their best photographs of coastal South Carolina in the annual photography contest sponsored by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Entries must be of a coastal South Carolina scene including marshes, beaches or wildlife and be appropriate as the winning photo will appear on DHEC's 2011 annual tide table poster.

Horizontal orientation is required. Color photos and digital photographs on CDs with image sheets are accepted with a limit of five pictures per contestant. Digital photographs should not exceed 1024 x 768 at 300 dpi. Printed photographs should not exceed a maximum printed size of 8"x10." Email submissions will not be accepted. Entry is free. Submissions will not be returned without a self-addressed stamped envelope provided by the contestant. Entries must be postmarked before October 9, 2010. The winner will be announced in November.
