Swimming advisory lifted for a section of Folly Beach
COLUMBIA – A swimming advisory issued Thursday for a section of Folly Beach in Charleston County has been lifted, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control announced today.
“Water samples indicate bacteria amounts in the affected area 200 feet on either side of the beach access at 5th Ave. East have returned to acceptable levels,” said Harvey Wilkins of DHEC’s Region 7 Environmental Quality Control office in Charleston. “The advisory was originally issued due to heavy rains in the area earlier this week.”
