Emergency Response Plans
The Office of Public Health Preparedness is responsible for the development and oversight of emergency response plans for potential threats that would affect the public health programs, health care systems, or the health of the public. Under the State Emergency Response Plan DHEC has responsibility for ESF-8 and ESF-10 and support of state plans that guide the mitigation, response and recovery of potential hazards. These plans are maintained by the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, and are available online. Each plan is developed in compliance with the national standards and framework.
