Congaree River Sediment Cleanup
DHEC will host a community meeting on Thursday, March 21, 2013, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at EdVenture Children's Museum located at 211 Gervais Street, Columbia, SC 29201. The purpose of the meeting is to provide information on the tar-like material (TLM) found in the sediments and soils of the Congaree River between the Gervais and Blossom Street bridges. Sampling data and cleanup alternatives evaluated by DHEC will be discussed.
Written comments on the assessment and cleanup alternatives considered for the Congaree River sediments will be accepted through April 22, 2013, and should be submitted to Lucas Berresford, Project Manager, DHEC, Bureau of Land and Waste Management, 2600 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
