SC's Early Action Plan for the 8-hour Ozone Standard

Milestones and Submittals

Forty-five counties in South Carolina, along with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 4 and S.C. DHEC, signed Early Action Compacts (EAC) in December 2002. By signing the EAC, EPA agreed to defer the effective date of the nonattainment designation for participating areas as long as all terms and conditions of the EAC were met. The following table lists the milestones and submittals required of the EAC areas between December 2002 through April 2008.

The EAC requires an annual review of growth to ensure emission reduction strategies and growth assumptions are adequate.
