We promote and protect the health of the public and the environment.
A Message from Myra Reece, Bureau Chief:
The Bureau of Air Quality is gearing up for its 2nd annual "Spare the Air" Awards. This award acknowledges South Carolina’s most innovative air quality programs and projects. The recipients exemplify what an individual, business, school or other entity can accomplish by committing to improve the environment. We encourage previous applicants and award winners from 2008 to apply again to reflect their on-going efforts or new projects.
As South Carolinians strive to improve air quality, we want to recognize the value of our partners. Your efforts to develop new air quality reduction strategies, policies or expand on existing ones make a difference, and this program is intended to highlight these efforts.
We encourage you to tell us about air quality challenges that you have overcome with viable solutions in your workplace or community. Your program or project could very well be the next big idea that everyone has been waiting for!
Nominate a worthy business, organization, individual or yourself before the July 31, 2009 deadline. Don’t delay; we are eager to hear about your success. So, mark your calendar and support the "Spare the Air" Awards program by submitting a nomination today!
I look forward to seeing many of our partners and guests at this event in Columbia on November 18th!
