Carpooling/vanpooling is an arrangement by a group of commuters to ride together
from their homes or a prearranged meeting place. This is an option best suited for
individuals who live near each other, work near each other, and have similar schedules
or flexible work hours.
"Carpooling" generally describes smaller groups (2-6 people) and "vanpooling" often is used for larger groups (7 or more people).
Carpooling/vanpooling is not just a great way to travel to and from work, school, extracurricular activities, or just running errands. This method also helps to reduce traffic congestion, vehicle miles traveled, and mobile source pollution.
