Air pollution can affect everyone, but children are among the sensitive groups of people at greater risk of health effects. Children are at higher risk from air pollution because they play outdoors more often, they are more likely to have asthma, and their lungs are still developing.

Air pollution also contributes to environmental problems in South Carolina and beyond.
