Surface Soil Monitoring Adjacent To SRS
Soil samples are collected quarterly from offsite locations. Perimeter samples are collected within a 50-mile radius of the site boundary and background samples are collected outside of the 50-mile radius. Samples are analyzed for specific radioisotopes such as gamma-emitting radionuclides and alpha/beta particles. Additionally, samples are analyzed for a specified Target Analyte List (TAL) of metals.
