SITES COLLECT: Cans (aluminum, steel), plastic bottles and jugs (#1, #2), glass (brown, green, clear), paper (cardboard, newspaper and inserts, white office paper, telephone directories), lead-acid batteries, used motor oil, filters and bottles, tires, cooking oil, white goods (large appliances), scrap metal, yard trimmings -- NOTES: Sites marked with an asterisk (*) also accept mixed paper. Sites marked with two asterisks (**) accept oil/gasoline mixture. Sites marked with three asterisks (***) accept farmer oil (up to 55 gallons).

Staffed Drop-off Site

HOURS: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Saturday winter hours are 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)

SITE COLLECTS: Cans (aluminum, steel), plastic bottles and jugs (#1, #2), glass (brown, green, clear), paper (cardboard, newspaper and inserts, white office paper, telephone directories), lead-acid batteries, used oil, filters and bottles, oil/gas mixture, tires, cooking oil, white goods, scrap metal, yard trimmings and household electronics including computer monitors, hard drives, radios, VCRs and DVD players

Yard Waste Compost for Sale

Vendor: BioSolid Compost and Mulch 
Location: 902 Landfill Rd. 

HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

DETAILS: Compost sells for $25 a ton and is available for individual and commercial use.

Hazardous Household Waste Facility

Georgetown County’s Household Hazardous Waste Facility is located at the Landfill Recycling Center on Hwy 51. The hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Materials accepted include: Paint products, cleaning products, lawn & garden care materials, automotive products and other miscellaneous products. Materials NOT accepted include: radioactive material, bio-hazardous or medical waste, explosives or ammunition, propane cylinders larger than 16.4 oz. or asbestos.
