2009 Recycle Guys Awards Call for Entries NEW! The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control's Office of Solid Waste Reduction and Recycling (Office) is pleased to call for entries for the 15th annual Recycle Guys Awards Program. Each year, the Office honors the top recycling programs, projects and people in South Carolina for outstanding achievement in a variety of categories. The 2009 award winners will be honored at a luncheon on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in Columbia at the Medallion Center. A list of last year's winners is available. |

'The S.C. Solid Waste Management Annual Report This report provides an overview of recycling and disposal efforts in South Carolina during fiscal year (FY) 2008 (July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008). The report includes: an introduction; a statistical summary of recycling and disposal figures; an executive summary of municipal solid waste (MSW) data and recommendations; data on individual commodities collected and recycled; an overview of used motor oil recycling; a summary of the recycling efforts of state agencies and state-supported colleges and universities; detailed information about county recycling activities; construction and demolition debris statistics; disposal data; information about solid waste planning; a list of permitted solid waste facilities; and a subject index. Reports from previous FYs also are available. |

S.C. Green Building Directory The goal of the SCGBD is to provide users with information they need to find products and services that support green building practices for new construction or remodeling of residential and commercial facilities in South Carolina and others in the Southeast. |

The 'Take Action: Recycle Used Motor Oil Tool Kit' For teachers who have received a grant through the Office's Recycling Education Grant Program, any of the activities or lessons provided in this tool kit can be used to meet the used motor oil awareness requirement. |
