Pinewood Site
Permitting
(This page will be updated to include information related to the permitting process for the proposed on-site Leachate Collection and Treatment System at the Pinewood Site.)
Starting in 2004, a DHEC-approved Closure Plan was executed to cease operations and close the Site. Current on-site activities include maintaining the closed landfill sections, performing environmental monitoring, and collecting and managing leachate. These activities are conducted to comply with the Hazardous Waste Post Closure Permit. To date, collected leachate and associated sludge has been disposed of properly at off-site approved facilities. This Post Closure Permit Renewal Application includes plans to treat the leachate on-site.
