2011 Update of the 208 Water Quality Management Plan

DHEC has recently completed 2-year process to comprehensively revise the current 208 Plan to reflect changes in the State’s water quality management needs since the last update in 1997. Below is the timeline used for completing revisions to each section of the current plan. A final plan is expected to be complete in the summer of 2011.

Draft changes: Introduction, General Description
APR 2010 Draft changes: Administrative Procedures, Wastewater Management Policies and Wasteload Allocation Process
MAY 2010 Draft changes: A and B of Inventory and Management Plan
JUL 2010 Draft changes: C and D of Inventory and Management Plan
AUG 2010 Complete all Designated Management Area maps
JAN 2011 Finalize plan update and issue public notice
FEB 2011 Hold public meeting to solicit feedback
Aug 2011 New plan available

The updated 208 Plan has been approved by the DHEC Board and is awaiting EPA approval. The final version of the plan can be found here.
