Drinking Water Compliance Monitoring

Source Specific Chemical Monitoring

The following compliance monitoring is source specific which means the samples are finished water samples (after treatment) and prior to the water entering the distribution system. These samples are collected from either a groundwater source (well) or surface water source (all water which is open to the atmosphere and subject to surface runoff).
Sampling is based upon monitoring cycles as outlined by the EPA - Standardized Monitoring Framework (pdf)

Type “S” State Systems

The State collected Nitrate samples on “S” systems (2009 – 2011).

Monitoring Cycle changes:  Systems exceeding the maximum contaminant levels or trigger levels as outlined in State Primary Drinking Water Regulation (SPDWR) R.61-58.5 shall monitor at a frequency designated by the Department and shall continue until the maximum contaminant level has not been exceeded in two successive samples or until a monitoring schedule as a condition to a variance, exemption, or enforcement action shall become effective.

Inorganic Contaminants - R.61-58.5.C(9)(g)
Special Conditions-Nitrate/Nitrite - R.61-58.5.C(12)(b),(15)(c)
Synthetic Organic Contaminants - R.61-58.5.E(7)(g)(i),(r)

Volatile Organic Contaminants - R.61-58.5.O(2)(k)(l)
