DHEC Posts Signs to Increase Awareness about

Safely Eating Fish from SC Waters

• Signs have been posted in English and Spanish on public boat landings that access waters in which SC DHEC has issued Fish Consumption Advisories. 

 

• The signs are part of a collaborative effort to increase awareness about eating the right types and safe amounts of fish caught in South Carolina.

 

• The signs have specific advice for that waterbody and pictures of species of fish that are under advisory.

 

• Even if a public boat landing does not have a sign, you should not assume that there is no advisory. 

 

• Always check the Fish Consumption Advisory website and/or booklet for the most current information.
