The
Savannah River Basin incorporates 35 watersheds and some 2.9 million acres
within the State of South Carolina (portions of the basin reside in North
Carolina and Georgia). Within the Department's Savannah River Basin are
the TugalooRiver/Seneca River Basin,
the Upper Savannah River Basin, and the Lower
Savannah River Basin. The Savannah River Basin extends across the Blue
Ridge, Piedmont, Sandhills, Upper Coastal Plain, Lower Coastal Plain, and
Coastal Zone regions. There are approximately 4,857 stream miles, 106,516
acres of lake waters, and 3,356 acres of estuarine areas in the basin.

document describes a wealth of information about the basins, including:
water chemistry information, biological monitoring information, physical
characteristics, natural resources, growth potential, potential nonpoint
source contributions, and point source discharges.
