2010-2011 Annual Awards Highlights
The All-Health Team annual awards program was held on April 29, 2011 at Palmetto GBA in Columbia. Burgess Elementary School’s Healthy Food Choice Program won first place gold award; second place silver award went to Girl Scout Troop 2303 for their Nutrition and Exercise Program and third-place bronze winner went to Okatie Elementary School for their Okie Healthy Steps Program. Ben Hoover was the emcee for the event and fancy footwork entertainment was provided by the Summitt Parkway Middle School Struttin Eagles Step Team. Katrina Williams got the audience up and moving with some Zumba moves. A healthy snacks demonstration was given by Chef Vinnie from BlueCross BlueShield and the Special Olympics organization was also present. Everyone in attendance learned more about how they can eat smart and move more.
