Model Policy
The Division is working to increase the number of smoke-free places throughout the state by developing model tobacco-free policies tailored to schools, hospitals, faith-based settings, worksites and recreation facilities.

The following is a sample municipal smoke-free workplace ordinance. This sample ordinance is based on the ordinance upheld by the S.C. Supreme Court and is one many cities, towns and counties have passed in recent years.
