South Carolina Immunization Registry Regulation
In 2010, the South Carolina General Assembly passed a law directing the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control to create a statewide mandatory immunization registry. This new law can be found at South Carolina Code of Laws, Section 44-29-40(B). SCDHEC's Immunization Division is in the process of drafting and promulgating a regulation to implement this new law.

In December 2010 and January 2011, DHEC employees presented four webinars that covered issues such as the value of immunization registries, the legal background of South Carolina's new mandatory registry, and the proposed framework for DHEC's immunization registry regulation. This link will take you to a recording of the webinar materials, including an audio recording and PowerPoint slides.
