DHEC can help you find services for your child or family member with chronic illnesses or disabilities.  Our services include:

• Information and referrals to agencies and organizations that help families of children with special needs
• Care coordinationby experienced nurses, social workers, dietitians and others, who are available for consultation and to help you find and access healthcare services
• Financial assistance to help with payment for medical services, supplies, equipment, and prescription medications
• Camp Burnt Gin, a residential summer camp serving children with disabilities. The camp offers a unique opportunity for fun while helping children with special needs learn and practice the self-care, independence and social skills crucial for best functioning at home, school and community.
