State Health Improvement Plan for Eliminating Health Disparities (SHIPEHD)

OMH continues to provide leadership in the coordination of the agency’s implementation of recommendations contained in the Health Disparities Study Report (2002).  The Health Disparities Study Report forms the basis of the State Health Improvement Plan for Eliminating Health Disparities, which is in response to proviso enacted by the SC General Assembly directing DHEC to develop and implement a state heath improvement plan, targeting racial and ethnic health disparities.  It was developed in collaboration with public and private agencies and organizations and focuses on coordination of services, elimination of duplication and coordination of federal, state and other resources toward improving the health status of minorities in the state.
