HIV/AIDS
The HIV/AIDS program provides detection, monitoring, counseling, and contact tracing of persons needing HIV/AIDS testing. The program can make referrals to the Ryan White Program for HIV-positive clients. They will also coordinate services with physicians, Social Security, and Social Services (DSS). The program provides health education presentations in the community.
Services offered to HIV-positive individuals include:
- case management/care coordination,
- social work services,
- transportation to medical care,
- medical referrals and pharmacy assistance through the Ryan White Program (if qualified), or the changes clinic at Orangeburg County Health Department
- support services, and
- medical care.
Pharmacy assistance is provided through the Changes Clinic at the Orangeburg County Health Department.
Fees: Walk-in, private pay clients are charged a fee for tests. There is no charge to patients with an identified disease or who need treatment, monitoring and contact tracing of HIV. Fees are based on a sliding scale according to income.
