The On the Safe Side - A Security Planning Toolkit for Public Health Emergencies is designed to give preparedness planners easy access to documents they will need to:
- Design and host a law enforcement and healthcare workshop;
- Develop a hospital security plan for medical surge and other emergencies;
- Develop a point of dispensing site security and traffic management plan;
- Design and host a security-based tabletop exercise.
The toolkit addresses elements of three target capabilities outlined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security:
- Public Safety and Security
- Medical Surge
- Mass Prophylaxis
