A nurse visits with you and your new infant to make sure that both of you are in good health. The visit includes an evaluation of the environment, the condition of the new mother, and a physical examination of the newborn infant. The nurse offers education, counseling and referrals based on the evaluation. This visit is a benefit offered by Medicaid insurance.
