Regulatory Compliance Division
- Review underground storage tank permit applications and issue permits to install and operate tank systems
- Ensure tank owners or operators maintain required financial responsibility for corrective action and third party liabilty
- Perform a state wide inspection program and other outreach efforts, such as Quarterly Newsletter, to promote tank system compliance with the SUPERB Act and applicable regulation. Inspection documents:
- Maintain up to date information on tank systems state wide and issue annual registration decals upon invoice payment
- Oversee and provide technical assistance at tank installations, system upgrades, and abandonments

Assessment And Corrective Action Division
- Coordinate public notices and hearings for remediation, all permits and disposal activities and assist tank owners and operators in obtaining access to perform necessary remediation activities
- Confirm and determine the risk represented by an underground storage tank release
- Maintain contractor services for remediation activities
- Oversee activities related to assessment, risk evaluation and remediation of underground storage tank releases
Financial Section
- Administer the two state assurance funds (SUPERB Financial Responsibility Fund and the SUPERB Account) which serve as partial financial responsibility mechanisms for tank owners and operators in meeting their state and federal financial responsibility obligations
- Administer the Site Rehabilitation Contractor Certification Program
- Process and audit invoices submitted for payment from the SUPERB Account
Enforcement Section
- Initiate and resolve enforcement cases where violations of the SUPERB Act or regulations have occurred
