Electronics recycling, Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection and paper shredding event.

Regional recycle day (Lexington county & Richland county) Saturday, October 15 (9 a.m. – 2 p.m.) Irmo high school, 6671 St. Andrews Rd., Columbia.

Lexington County

Lexington County Collection and Recycle Centers and the Edmund Landfill accept a larger variety of recyclables than offered in Curbside Collection programs. See the Lexington County section for details.

Mulch, Compost and Compost Bins Available Shredded wood mulch and certified compost is available at the Edmund Landfill off Highway 302 (498 Landfill Lane, Lexington), Monday - Saturday, 7 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The cost for mulch and compost is $10 per ton. Compost is also available in 40 Lb bags for $2. Compost bins (80 gallon, Earth Machine) can be purchased through one-day preorder for $35.   • Mattress, Box Spring
  • Propane Tank
  • Tire (greater than 4 per day – fee may apply)
  • Wood Waste – Clean (NO plastic bags or containers), untreated wood, tree/bush trimmings – no size limitations,  leaves, grass clippings, pine straw
  • REFRIGERATION Units – fee may apply
  • ELECTRONICS (computers, monitors, printers/copiers, Televisions) – five items per day
