Each year, body piercing technicians are required to complete several health training programs before the state of South Carolina can issue a permit to a facility.
Body piercing technicians must complete and possess a certificate of successful completion for these courses each year:
- Blood-borne pathogens
- Body piercing infection control
- American Red Cross First Aid Certification
- Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification from either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
