The Catawba River Basin incorporates 21 watersheds and some 1.5 million acres within the State of South Carolina (a portion of the basin resides in North Carolina). The Catawba River Basin extends through the Piedmont, Sandhills, and Upper Coastal Plain regions of the State. There are approximately 2,943 stream miles and 26,308 acres of lake waters in the basin.

Watershed Water Quality Assessment (WWQA). 

WWQA document describes a wealth of information about the basins, including: water chemistry information, biological monitoring information, physical characteristics, natural resources, growth potential, potential nonpoint source contributions, and point source discharges.
