DHEC will be convening a stakeholder workgroup to create a Groundwater Management Plan (GWMP) for the newly designated Western Capacity Use Area.  The first meeting of this group will be on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 9:00 am at the DHEC offices at 2600 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201. 

The GWMP will be used to achieve the goals and objectives of conserving and protecting water resources, preventing waste, and providing and maintaining conditions that are conducive to the efficient and effective development and wise use of water resources. 

The GWMP workgroup is charged with developing a draft plan that will be available for public comment by August 2019. A final plan will be presented to the DHEC Board of Directors by the November 2019 Board Meeting.
