DHEC is hosting an informal community meeting to discuss the proposed Luck Stone Chester Quarry and DHEC’s environmental permitting processes. At this meeting, staff from DHEC’s mining, air quality, and water programs will be available to address questions from local residents about the proposed mine.

A formal public hearing to receive comments will be held on November 19, 2019. Public notices of the public hearing and draft air quality permit will be posted by DHEC on October 16, 2019. The public comment period will remain open through December 4, 2019. All comments will be considered before final DHEC decisions are made.
