Adolescent Health

Letter to Professionals

professional at desk talking to teen and her mom THANK YOU for the work you are already doing with our state’s valuable youth population!  As DHEC’s Adolescent Health Coordinator, I would like to CONNECT with you and other youth advocates to address adolescent health issues in South Carolina.

As you know, adolescence is a very important time in a person’s life. It can, however, be a very challenging time for the adolescent and for his or her family.

Since their brains are still developing, youth may have a difficult time making the best decisions. Unfortunately, negative choices made during this period could impact the remainder of their lives.

As youth advocates, let’s work together toward creating what we all want for SC adolescents and their families: a community that nurtures positive youth development, health, safety, and well-being.

For additional information, refer to the Personal Responsibility Education Program and Resources links.

Thank you again for your efforts in the area of Adolescent Health. I look forward to connecting with you.
