National Public Health Week April 2-8, 2018

National Public Health Week is celebrated each year during the first full week of April. It is a time to recognize the contributions of public health and to highlight important issues affecting the well-being of citizens in South Carolina and other communities across the United States

S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control is hosting events across its health regions to celebrate the importance of public health in the communities it serves. The events are open to the public and include a variety of activities.

Monday, April 2:
11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Lowcountry Region: MUSC National Public Health Week Kickoff. DHEC representatives will have a table set up to share information about DHEC programs.

Tuesday, April 3:
3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Midlands Region/Aiken: Open House. Community partners and the public are invited. Free testing (all day): HIV and Syphilis only.

Midlands Region/Saluda: Open House. Molina Health and PASOS will be available to talk to clients. Also, free STD testing will be available to Public Health clients who already have appointments.

Midlands Region/Newberry: Open House. Grand re-opening. The public is invited to learn about what the health department does.

1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Midlands Region/York: Women and children safety. Police officers will be on hand to talk about safety. Food demonstrations will also be provided.

Lowcountry Region: WIC Mobile Unit Tour. Come tour the WIC Mobile Unit.
