We may see all zones finish at CODE YELLOW for ground-level ozone this Saturday afternoon. We should start to see more low-level cloudiness move into South Carolina on Sunday to add to the cirrus cloud coverage of today, as a storm system approaches the Carolinas from the west. Winds should be from the south to southwest, allowing more moisture to move into the state and helping to kick off some afternoon and evening showers and possible thunderstorms, especially for the western two-thirds of the state. Thus, we can expect the forecast zones in that part of the state to be within CODE GREEN criteria on Sunday, as ozone development should be slow to occur under mostly cloudy to cloudy conditions. The only zones to see CODE YELLOW should be the Pee Dee and the Charleston Tri-County area zones, where convection is least likely, and more sunshine is expected on Sunday.
