We should see a mixture of CODE GREEN and CODE YELLOW among the six forecast zones for ground-level ozone this Friday afternoon. We should see an increase in ozone concentrations on Saturday for most of South Carolina, as surface high pressure moves closer to the Carolinas. With mostly sunny skies, light winds, and dry conditions, the atmosphere is ripe for ozone development. The Midlands zone should remain at CODE GREEN, due to some wind activity associated with the leeside trough, but all other zones should be at CODE YELLOW for Saturday.
