Parents information for S.C. Oral Health Statewide Screening

Schoold Bus

The 2022-23 Statewide Oral Health Needs Assessment: Every Smile Counts screening is a quick and simple visual screening of your child's teeth. Information collected from the screening will help provide a snapshot of the oral health status of students in grades K5 and 3rd grade.

Privacy is important! Your child's name will not be included in any of the results. Your child's health and your family's privacy are very important to us and will be protected. Safety is a priority! The screenings will be conducted by a trained health professional who will follow all infection control rules.

It is important to screen as many children as possible, however, parents can opt out of the screening. Your child's personal information will be protected and will not be shared. For more information, a fact sheet is available.
