Veterinarians across South Carolina join forces with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) each spring to help owners protect themselves, their families, their communities, and pets against rabies by offering rabies vaccines for $10 or less during the annual Spring Clinics in counties across the state.
As required by state law, all pet owners must vaccinate their dogs, cats, and ferrets. Keeping your pets up to date on their rabies vaccinations is one of the easiest and most effective ways you can protect yourself, your family, and your pets from this fatal disease. Hundreds of South Carolinians must undergo preventive treatment for rabies every year due to exposure to a rabid or suspected rabid animal.
The 2020 Spring Clinic Schedules will be posted in March of 2020. If your pet is in need of a rabies vaccine before that time, vaccines are available at veterinary offices all year long. We also have links to year round, low-cost clinics on our webpage: https://scdhec.gov/health/diseases-conditions/insect-or-animal-borne-disease/rabies.
Note: Not all counties will have a 2020 Spring Clinic schedule as clinics are based on veterinarian participation.
